GOVERNOR SERIAKE DICKSON MEETS WITH PERMANENT SECRETARIES TOWARDS ACTUALIZING SET GOALS.

Governor Seriake Dickson has announced plans in a meeting with Permanent Secretaries in Government House, Yenagoa, following the dissolution of the Executive Council, to reduce the overbearing recurrent expenditure of government and minimize waste with a view to funding critical sectors of the economy. The Governor noted that government needed to advise a workable plan to realize its vision as outlined in the restoration agenda for the state.
While soliciting the cooperation and support of the permanent secretaries to work in tandem with his vision, Chief Dickson stated, human capital development, healthcare, construction of roads and other critical infrastructure would be accorded priority. He also underscored the need to enhance the civil service without making it result-oriented and urged the permanent secretaries to partner with government to deliver the dividends of democracy pending the appointment of members of his cabinet.
Chief Seriake observed high expectations assuring that government would redouble efforts at transforming the state. He further pointed out that meeting with permanent secretaries would be a regular exercise. The Head of Service, Mrs. Gloria Izonfuo, expressed readiness to work with the new administration towards actualizing set goal.
