BINABO ASSURES ON IMPROVED WELFARE FOR TRADITIONAL RULERS

Acting Governor of Bayelsa State Rt. Hon. Nestor Binabo says steps are being taken to improve on the welfare package for traditional rulers across the state.
The acting Governor stated this when he paid an unscheduled visit to the Ebedaowei of Kolokuma clan, King Mozi Onyan Agara at his palace in Kaiama.He described traditional rulers as major players in Governor’s effort at achieving lasting peace and unity amongst the people of the state, adding that everything humanly possible will be done to encourage them.
Rt. Hon. Binabo also called on Local Government Chairmen to give greater priority to the welfare of traditional rulers in their areas, noting that as custodians of the culture and tradition of the people, they need the support of government at difference levels to effectively play their roles.
Earlier in his remarks, the Ebedaowei of Kolokuma clan, King Mozi Onyan Agara had enjoined the Acting Governor to use his short stay in office to impact positively on the people of the state.
He used the occasion to commend the Acting Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Fini Angaye for single handedly embarking on the link road to his palace and appealed to the Acting Governor to complement the efforts of the lawmaker by completing the project.
On the traditional ruler’s request to complete an going link road to his palace, the Acting Governor assured that something would be done to support the project.
