ACTING GOVERNOR ADVISED AGAINST PIPELINE VANDALIZATION AND ITS HEALTH HAZARDS


The Acting Governor, Chief Nestor Binabo has charged the traditional rulers in the state to check the problem of pipeline vandalization and illegal refineries in their domains. During a courtesy visit to the Monarch of Bomo kingdom, king Joshua Igbugburu in his palace, Chief Binabo observed that the incidence of pipeline vandalization pollutes the land and rivers while refining of crude oil   not only illegal, but was harzadous to the health of the people and destructive to the environment.
The Acting Governor, who noted that the visit to the monarch was borne out of the regards for the traditional institution, said government would not spare any effort in improving their welfare. He further expressed appreciation to the Monarch for the Chieftaincy title conferred on him, stating that as a member of the council of chiefs, he would dutifully attend the council meetings whenever he was invited.
Highlight of the visit was the conferment of the chieftaincy title of “Okulolou of Bayelsa” on the Acting Governor as well as the presentation of a walking stick.
