GOVERNMENT, THE PUBLIC AND ICAN


Government has been advised by the National President of Institute of Chartered Account, Professor Frances Ojaide to encourage and support the growth of the Bayelsa State Centre. At a dinner organized in his honour by the Yenagoa district of ICAN during his four-day visit to the state.
He noted that government and the public have lots to gain from the services of Chartered Accountants because of the immense value added services they provide for various organizations.  The National President also advised members of the institute to render excellent services and eschew practices that would bring their to disrepute.
Also speaking, the district chairman of the society, Mr. Allison Amachree said ICAN has come a long way in the state since its partnershipwith the government in two thousand and six to establish a study centre with an initial membership of twenty –one, now one hundred and five to train chartered accountants.
According to him, the partnership was for the government of finance and provide for the infrastructure while ICAN with manpower which it now exports.
