NEMBE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN CALLS FOR PEACE.

The Chairman of Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Mr. Waribugo Sylva has called on the people of Obioku to be law abiding and work for the interest of peace and development of the area. He made this call in an interview with newsmen in Nembe.Reacting to reports that some persons in Obioku community have constituted themselves into power blocs to undermine the council’s peace efforts at Obioku which led to the constitution of two conflict resolution committees, Mr. Sylva warned that anybody or group that takes the law into its hands will be severely dealt with.
Mr. Waribugo Sylva, who condemned the purported attempt to enthrone a new paramount ruler, emphasized that government will not condone any form of lawlessness as the exercise is unacceptable. He also called on law enforcement agencies to ensure that peace and tranquility prevail in the area.
