DEPUTY GOV. VISITS SCENE OF EXPLOSION, DESCRIBES INCIDENT AS UNFORTUNATE

The Bayelsa state deputy governor, Chief Werinipre Seibarugu has visited the scene of a minor explosion at the Tombia Bridge in Yenagoa. Speaking at the scene, Chief Seibarugu expressed sadness over the incident as part of the bridge was destroyed which he attributed to callous acts by people who want to create unnecessary tension in the state. He said the intention of the perpetrators of the act is to create the impression that peace has eluded the state, emphasizing that the state cannot be subjected to violent tendencies. The deputy governor said security agencies are working in concert with government to maintain the peace and advised residence not to panic. He dismissed the rumour that there was another explosion at the Peace Park which stated that a car caught fire. Chief Seibarugu warned rumour mongers to desist from such practice as it will not augur well for the state.
