GOVERNMENT DIRECTS COMPANIES TO STOP OPERATIONS IN THE STATE

The government of Bayelsa State, in a statement through the Commissioner for Environment, Chief Robert Enogha has directed all Excavation and Dredging firms including Mining activities to stop operations within the shores of the state with immediate effect.
Chief Enogha has directed all Mining, Excavation and Dredging companies to report to his office with their clearance certificate on Environmental Impact Assessment issued to them by the Ministry next Monday by ten ‘o’ clock in the morning. The statement warns all affected companies to treat the directive as urgent or face the wrath of government.
