"UP CREEK WITHOUT A PADDLE" BY NOLLYWOOD STARS



International and Local Movies Stars met with Governor Sylva with a view to showcasing the state’s tourism potentials to the outside world. Speaking at the meeting held at Government House, Yenagoa, Chief Timipre Sylva assured that government would provide the necessary support for the production of the film titled, ”Up Creek Without A Paddle”, by a Nollywood Producer/Director, Mr. Tarila Thompson.
The film which is about the Amnesty programme, is intended to celebrate Governor Sylva and the role he played in the state in the Niger Delta. The Governor noted that his administration has been hosting the Africa Movie Academy Award, AMAA with the intention of making the state hub of film production.
Governor Sylva pointed out that the state possesses a lot of potentials locations for shooting good movies and urged Nollywood producers to take advantage of them. Mr. Tarila Thompson stated that the visit was to formally intimate Governor Sylva with the plans to shoot the film in the state. Assiatant Director Mr. Emma Ayalogu said shooting on the film has commenced near Oloibiri in Ogbia Local Government Area and plans are on to do same in Sampou and possibly other sites in Brass.
A South Africa Actor, Andrew Mckenzie said though he has not participated in any Nollywood Movie before but he is excited to feature in the film. Also a renown Nollywood Actor , Mr. Ernest Azuzu said this was his first time in Yenagoa, adding that the state is peaceful and hospitable contrary to reports about Bayelsa.
Highpoint of the occasion was the presentation of script of the film to Governor Timipre Sylva by Mr. Tarila Thompson.
