INEC REGISTRATION EXERCISE FOR THE 2012 GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION BEGINS



The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC begins voters registration exercise for the 2012 gubernatorial exercise in the one hundred and five wards across the state. It has been noted that few people were seen gathering around the centres waiting patiently for the exercise to commence. 
Speaking on the issue, two residents said no matter the little hiccup, they will wait and ensure that they are registered, to enable them participate in the forth coming gubernatorial election in the state. The Residents Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Edwin Offor Nwatarali said the exercise is for those who could not register during the last registration exercise.
He also stressed that those who have attained the age of 18yrs now can also get registered to enable them get a new card. Mr. Nwatarali stated further that INEC has updated its software to meet upcoming challenges during and after the election. He advised Bayelsans to use this opportunity to get registered, noting that the exercise will end on the 19th of this month.
