ASUU STRIKE DEMORALIZES STUDENTS

Academic activities in the Niger Delta University, NDU Amassoma have come to a halt due to the recent ongoing nationwide strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. A student who prefers to be annonymous said that she blamed the Federal Government for the non compliance with the agreement reached with ASUU.
A member of ASUU Mr. Victor Boladei appealed to the federal government to honor the agreement reached by body parties to enable lecturers return to work as well as students. The Chairman, ASUU chapter, Comrade Beke Tuboukiye-Sese expressed sadness over Federal Government interests in the petroleum sector only rather than revamping the collapsed educational sector in the country.
He called the federal government to adequately fund the educational sector in order to compete favorably with world class universities.  He therefore enjoined parents, students and the civil society organizations to prevail on the Federal Government to honor the agreement reached with ASUU.
