The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Southern Ijaw Local Government in Bayelsa State, has notified the Presidency and State Executive Committee of the party on the resolution of the Legislative Arm concerning the elevation of the Vice Chairman, Mr. Felix Bonny-Ayah to the position of the Acting Chairman of the council.
The legislative arm of the council invoked the section forty five sub- section ‘two’ of the constitution due to the long absence of the council Chairman and his refusal to appear before a Seven – Man Disciplinary committee set up by the local chapter of the PDP.
The leadership of the party through a letter declared their support for the resolution taken by the Legislative arm of the council which includes the elevation of the Vice Chairman to Acting Chairman, the appointment of the Vice Chairman of the party, Anthony Ekpele as the new Chairman of the party in the Local Government.
The letter was signed by nine out of twelve committee members of the party, others who also endorsed the letter includes fifteen ward leaders in the council.
