AN ANNUAL CHOIR COMPETITION TO THE GLORY OF GOD


An annual choir competition has been introduced to ensure that the youths are positively engaged. The programme is sponsored by the Robert Enogha Foundation, and aimed at fostering development spirits of the youths.
Represented by the Commissioner for Environment and host of the events, Chief Roberts Enogha, Governor Timipre Sylva stated this at the maiden edition of the programme held in Banquet Hall, Government House, Yenagoa. The Governor Stated that the concert will be a yearly events in fulfillment of his dream to build a house of praise in the state .  
Chief Enogha commended the ten participating churches and panel of Judges as he prayed for peace and tranquility in the state. The organizer of the competition who is also the choir chaplain Venerable Ibaralanyo Theophilus, emphasized that the essence of the events was to sing praises to the glory of God.
He admonished Christians to always praise the Lord through songs and hymns and not to engage in drunkenness and other social vices. Earlier, Chairman of the occasion, Sir Gborienemi George had called for more of such programmes to glorify God through music and songs
Highlights of the event was a joint performance by a participating choirs titled “I ,II Sing to the Lord”, individual choir renditions and a special performance by the Bayelsa State Choir also known as King of Glory Chapel choir.
