CLOSING CEREMONY OF NYSC BATCH 'C' ORIENTATION COURSE


During the closing ceremony of the twenty-eleven batch ‘C’ orientation course for corps members deployed to the state in Kaiama, the head quarters of Kolokuma/Opokuma Local government area of the state, Governor Timipre Sylva gave the warning that employers of corps members that sabotage the aim of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC by rejecting corps members posted to them would be sanctioned by the appropriate authority.
Chief Timipre Sylva pledged government’s commitment in ensuring an improved education standard of the state, pointing out that, abundant talents in the NYSC scheme would be channeled to the education industry while majority of the corps members would be posted to rural schools
The Governor who was represented by the State Commissioner of Education, professor Tuemi Asuka said government has concluded plans to utilize the services of corps members who demonstrates expertise skills in agriculture to work closely with local farmers, so that they would benefit from the agricultural loan scheme.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Secretary to the State Government, Alabo Gideon Ekeuwei assured the corps members that the state government would soon embark on construction oof a new orientation camp.
Earlier, the state coordinator of the NYSC, Mr. Abada Okpiroro had intimated the State Governor that the National Youth Service Scheme was established to respond to serious national problems which emanated after the thirty month civil war and expressed joy that the scheme has produced the desired result.
