NATIONAL IMMUNIZATION DAY IN YENAGOA

As the National Immunization day plus makes progress reports speaks of low turnout in centres visited, the immunization which is part of Maternity and Neonatal child health kicked off in Yenagoa. A community health worker at Yenizue-Gene health centre, Mrs. Abah Gbarainere, said the exercise is targeted at the pregnant women and children to eliminate the six killer diseases as Bayelsan women and children were advised to key into the immunization programme.

A beneficiary Mrs. Juliet Egiri expressed delight with the exercise while urging that the tempo be sustained. At Amarata health centre, a staff, Comfort Amangala said as an annual health programme the health Ministry had carried out sensitization to communities, chiefs and churches on the need to immunize their children.

Speaking on behalf of other Agency attached to the Antenatal department, a Register in the National population commission, Mr. Wenibowei Godknows, stated that registration of birth and death issuant of certificate are also in progress.
