BAYELSANS PRAY FOR PEACE IN BAYELSA STATE

Governor Timipre Sylva has urged Bayelsans to pray ceaselessly for a hitch free polls, as the 2012 gubernatorial election approaches. Chief Sylva made this statement at a programme organized by the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), tagged” Bayelsans Fast and Pray For Peace” at the peace park in Yenagoa.
Governor Sylva expressed utmost gratitude to CAN for organizing the programme , as their programme which were timely and could erase events of threat to the stability of the state, under his leadership has also been instrumental to the survival of the state.
Recalling the period of insecurity as he assumed office in 2007, Governor Sylva observed that , presently peace has been restored to the state. Governor Sylva, however enjoined all to maintain the prevailing peace for sustainable development and prosperity as he offered prayers to hand the state over to God Almighty the Creator and Ruler of the universe.
Chairman of the state chapter of CAN, most Rev. Israel Ege said the programme was organized to offer special prayers to God for peace to reign in the state as the gubernatorial election approaches. In the sermon, Apostle Israel Ayibakuro stressed the need for people to be Holy and Righteous before God to answer their prayers, for without God we labour in vain.
