14TH ANNIVERSARY FOR NAWOJ



The State Chapter of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists, celebrated her 14th anniversary/award ceremony yesterday (september 8th 2011). 
The ceremony was well attended with both women and men from all sectors in Bayelsa State who indicated their interest to partner with the Association. As part of their Fourteenth Anniversary, NAWOJ donated food items, drinks, toiletries and other consumable items to the children home, Opolo.
The chairman of the occasion, Mrs. Timinepere Idoko stated during the presentation that NAWOJ is identifying with children during this celebration in order to give them sense of belonging. Still in her presentation she commended the care givers and urged them as they press on in this regard. Receiving the gifts, an official of the home commended the association for recognizing the children. A total of sixteen women were given honorary awards for their hard work, tireless efforts and excellence in their various offices including the state Chief Judge, Justice Kate Abiri, the Head of Service, Mrs. Gloria Izofou, Dr Oyin Olowu at Niger Delta University, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media and Social Networking Miss Oyanbo Peace Owei, and others dignitaries who graced the occasion.
