DAEWOO COLLABORATES WITH BAYELSA STATE GOVT TO PROVIDE TRAINING FOR YOUTHS

Governor Timipre Sylva today embarked on a facility tour/inspection of projects. The sites visited were the Skills Acquisition Centre Elebele (still under construction), The Bayelsa State Plastic Industry, Melford Okilo Memorial Hospital as well as Diete Koki Memorial Hospital.                                                                              Governor Sylva was accompanied on the visit by the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Mr Ebitei Francis  and the Executive Director of Daewoo Nigeria Ltd, Mr Lee.
Mr Lee announced that the company is to collaborate with the state government to provide training for youths in the areas of welding, piping and fabrication. Mr Lee also expressed his company's willingness to explore other areas of partnership with the state government towards youth empowerment.
Governor Timipre Sylva pointed out that government would collaborate with corporate bodies to impact skills in various aspects of training. Governor Sylva further stated that on completion of the training, the companies are expected to provide employment for the youths.
