THE GOVERNOR EXPLAINS

The Governor of Bayelsa state, Chief Timipre Sylva, in a TV Bayelsa program tagged “The Governor Explains” has promised to focus more attention on Education, Agriculture and Housing sectors when re-elected.
The Governor also said that areas have already been mapped out to construct G.R.A phases, stating that Isaac Boro Express road will be mapped out to link Elebele community to decongest the state capital. He further explained that the sports sector has been given its due place under his administration and that athletes will be compensated before the forth-coming sports festival.
On security, the Governor said Fam-Tamgbe was created to tackle the uprising cases of criminality and protect Bayelsans. The Governor further explained the demolition of illegal structures and those obstructing natural channels were not politically motivated as claimed by some people.
Governor Sylva described as unjustifiable the situation where government is made to bear the burden of salary payment of staffs it did not authorize to be employed by the media houses. He said that there would be a meeting with the media houses to discuss the way forward to run a sustainable system. Chief Timipre Sylva also called on Bayelsans to join hands in the development of the state and to shun divisive activities.
